I talk to the trees
I tame the beasts
I look at myself in the rivers
I move in the wind
Everything I can tell you with words
Is in my body

ceramic art design
This project begins with a fascination for the shapes of the glands in the human body, and the place that they occupy within the physical body.
After knowing and understanding the shapes, I began to be interested in the functions that these develop in the human body by understanding how the endocrine system works and the interconnections between the other systems
(circulatory, nervous, immune, etc.)
The nervous system and the endocrine system are the main ones that regulate our circadian rhythm * and body homeostais ** .

* Circadian rhythms are physical, mental and behavioral changes that occur in all organisms and that follow a 24-hour cycle.
-
** Homeostasis is a property of organisms that consists of their ability to maintain a stable internal condition , compensating for changes in their environment through the regulated exchange of matter and energy with the outside.

I thought about designing a work that would unite and illustrate the interconnection of the endocrine system with the nervous system. I modeled the glands in wax (1: 1) to cast them in metal, since metal is an electrically conductive material and conceptually fits with the functions of neurons (electric impulses) and hormones (chemical messengers) and how they circulate through the human body to perform its functions.
