I talk to the trees
I tame the beasts
I look at myself in the rivers
I move in the wind
Everything I can tell you with words
Is in my body

Chrysalis.
Paverpol latex, cloth and bulb. 2018.

The Chrysalis is the state of metamorphosis that butterflies go through to become from larvae to “adult”. Taking this “animal” architecture as a formal reference, I designed a lamp that is built around the bulb which is enclosed inside.
During the chrysalis stages of insects, they do not feed or move to avoid predators anything further from this apparent inactivity, in reality the insect is doing a whole job of reconversion of its entire structure and was formed to emerge converted into a completely different being. The lamp seeks to represent this apparently invisible energy that is operating change.
