Digital Copy is a research and material experimentation project on digital reproduction techniques. Taking as a starting point the children’s game of oral transmission of the “Chinese whispers” where the message is distorted each time it passes through an interlocutor and transported it to the matter, I scanned two ceramic vases (modeled by hand) with a 3D scanner. I made different reproductions of each of the scans with the intention of documenting the loss of information and the deformation of the original object through the scans and their respective reproductions.

 

From a first vase (above) I made two copies, one in transparent PLA and the other in white ABS, from the second vase (below) I performed 4 tests in transparent PLA and one last copy developed in ash wood with a CNC machine.
